A RETREAT WITH A UNIQUE VIEW

SITUATED HIGH ABOVE THE LAKE, THE CARLTON HOTEL IS THE NOBLEST RETREAT IN ST. MORITZ AND A PEARL OF THE SWISS ALPS.
Over 100 Years Of The Carlton Hotel

Switzerland has long had a reputation for luxury hotels, and St. Moritz is no exception. It was here that the first luxury hotel in the Alps opened in the 19th century, giving birth to Alpine winter tourism. The number of outstanding luxury hotels in the former mountain village continued to grow, and in 1913 the five-star Carlton Hotel St. Moritz became the fifth. As before, the five properties in St. Moritz are known throughout the world as the "Big Five." The Carlton Hotel stands out with its special location and offers the most beautiful view over the lake and the surrounding mountains: each of the 60 rooms and suites faces Lake St. Moritz.

"NEW LUXURY" AT THE CARLTON HOTEL
New Luxury - this is the credo. An individual retreat in the middle of the famous winter destination and at the same time an optimal starting point to explore the natural beauty of the Upper Engadine.

And there is plenty to discover in the Engadine: in addition to 350 kilometers of ski slopes, 200 kilometers of cross-country ski trails and 150 kilometers of hiking trails, new, invigorating and inspiring winter activities are enjoying great popularity. When literally jumping into cold water, for example, ice bathing, guests are personally accompanied by hotel director Stephanie Lehnort. An experience that not only provides the immediate kick, but also stimulates blood circulation down to the smallest vessels and thus gets the circulatory system going. During a visit to the glacier caves of Morteratsch, the power of the white season can then be felt in its most original form, because here in the eternal ice it has been stored for centuries.

The lavish spa at the Carlton Hotel is more than 12,000 square feet and takes up three floors.

MOVING MOUNTAINS:

MUCH MORE THAN "JUST" VACATIONS

Such energizing activities away from the slopes and hustle and bustle of St. Moritz are, among other things, part of the Moving Mountains vacation philosophy. Inspired by the history and beauty of the landscape that surrounds the Carlton Hotel, a program has been created to promote vitality, re-experience nature as well as celebrate joie de vivre. Based on scientific findings in the areas of exercise, nutrition, sleep and relaxation, selected services and activities support the best possible use of time out from everyday life for oneself and one's own well-being.

In the restaurants, for example, there is the option to opt for plant-based, wholesome and energizing Moving Mountains menus - inspired by the respective regions and prepared with passion by a top-class kitchen team. Holistic massages and body treatments prepare for the upcoming night's rest, with the perfect conditions in the room.

In the areas of functional fitness and yoga, exercise programs have been designed to meet the individual needs of guests and optimally prepare them for any activities in nature. Last but not least, nature plays a central role in the entire philosophy: Empowering Expeditions and Curated Adventures allow guests to experience the environment in a completely new way.

This philosophy flows naturally into a stay - at the same time, each guest consciously decides which elements to incorporate into their time away and to what extent.

CLIMATE NEUTRAL SINCE 2019
As part of the Tschuggen Collection, the Carlton Hotel has been climate neutral since 2019. With the Green Globe certification received in 2022, the entire hotel group is additionally one of the most sustainable hotel companies in Switzerland. The certification reflects that the daily commitment to the most sustainable hotel operation possible is worthwhile. Ongoing investments are made in the energy optimization of the infrastructures - for example, 100% electricity from renewable hydropower is used and all residual CO2 emissions are offset. In addition, not only local projects for the protection of nature are supported, but also those for the preservation of cultural and historical treasures. For a climate-neutral stay, without a guilty conscience.
